There was a definite sense of occasion at Grand West Casino and Entertainment World here in Cape Town recently. It was a privilege to be commissioned by Your Luxury Africa to photograph the red carpet arrivals for the highly anticipated Lebo M and Hans Zimmer concert Cape Town. This event represented a remarkable and somewhat rare collaboration between two global musical icons. It brought together their combined cinematic and theatrical power to a South African stage. It was a truly memorable performance for the city.
The Red Carpet
As a Cape Town-based event photographer with over 17 years of experience, assignments like the Lebo M and Hans Zimmer concert Cape Town are always professionally rewarding. The red carpet is the gateway to the evening’s experience. It’s a dynamic environment offering unique opportunities to capture the guests’ arrivals and the specific energy that builds before a major performance. Amidst the excitement and movement, my goal was to professionally document the personalities, the interactions, and the distinct style of the attendees, reflecting the calibre of the evening against the vibrant setting of Grand West. Capturing those authentic moments requires focus and anticipation.
Collaborating with Your Luxury Africa to cover this prestigious event was, as always, a pleasure.
Below, I’ve shared some photographic highlights from the red carpet, providing a look at the setting for the Lebo M and Hans Zimmer concert Cape Town.
Among the attendees I photographed were the event headliners Lebo M and Hans Zimmer themselves. You’ll also see images featuring other notable figures who added to the evening’s artistic flair: the award-winning Congolese-South African musician Tresor; Lebo M’s talented daughter, singer-songwriter Refilwe Morake (Refi Sings), who often performs alongside her father; accomplished violinist Rusanda Penfili, a frequent soloist on Hans Zimmer’s global tours; and the versatile international cellist Mariko Muranaka, known for her dynamic performances on major tours. It was inspiring to see such a blend of local and international talent present.
