The brief
Building a headshot library that scales with the team
LevelUp Human Capital Solutions provides talent acquisition, recruitment process outsourcing, and contingent workforce solutions. Their Cape Town office operates as a Centre of Recruiting Excellence: a growing team, working at pace, with a need for professional imagery that reflects their market positioning.
The first two sessions, in June 2023 and a few months later, were photographed at a shared workspace in the V&A Waterfront where the team was based during their Cape Town launch. Those sessions established the standard: consistent lighting, consistent background, and a workflow that keeps people comfortable and the session moving efficiently.
As the team grew and moved to Century City, that foundation made each follow-up session straightforward. Images from all four sessions share the same visual language, which is the point. The most recent session in March 2026 brought 25 people in front of the camera in a single day at their current premises.

On the day
Tethered and efficient across 25 people
The March 2026 session ran on a fully tethered setup. Images appeared on a large monitor as they were taken, so direction, expression, and framing could be adjusted in real time before the subject moved on. With 25 people to photograph in a single day, this keeps the session moving without sacrificing quality.
Each person takes approximately ten to fifteen minutes in front of the camera. On-set direction covers posture, expression, and positioning, kept practical and without jargon, so people who have never done a professional shoot feel at ease from the start.
The result is a consistent set of portraits across the full team, all shot in the same lighting environment against the same background, with the same post-processing applied. That consistency is what makes a headshot library useful across a company's website, LinkedIn profiles, and internal directories.
Photography + video
A full production day in October 2024
The October 2024 session was the largest of the earlier shoots. Over 40 individual headshot sessions were completed in a single day, alongside environmental and team photography throughout the Century City office space.
Kat Willemse of House of Vizion was on site for the full day, producing lifestyle video of the offices, a separate brief running in parallel. One day on location, two outputs: a complete headshot library and a video asset for the company's communications.
Combining photography and video minimises disruption to the team, and the two disciplines share a consistent visual language when briefed together from the outset.
What the client said
"I've worked with Jürgen at two different companies. When moving to my current company, I made sure to reach out to him for all of our professional corporate photography needs, as he had already established himself as a brilliant and skilled individual.
I think the important part about being a photographer is that they make you feel comfortable, and that's exactly what Jürgen is able to achieve. He has an aura about him that is so comforting, it brings out the best in people in photos.
He is filled with great ideas and clearly has the knowledge and know-how to make your brand shine!"
