Planning the shoot day
Minimal disruption. Maximum consistency
A team headshot session is designed to fit around a working day, not displace it. Each person takes 10 to 15 minutes in front of the camera, which means a team of 12 can be photographed in a morning, with time to spare. For hybrid offices, the session can be split across a morning and afternoon, with remote staff coming in on a separate day and matched to the same setup. The order of subjects is flexible, so managers who need to step out for meetings can be moved around the schedule without disrupting the flow.
The mobile studio requires one corner of a boardroom, a reception area, or a section of open-plan floor. A professional lighting rig, a clean background, and a small equipment kit are set up in 30 to 40 minutes. No purpose-built studio space is needed. The result is indistinguishable from a studio session, because the lighting and background are controlled, not borrowed from the environment.
A short staff brief sent before the shoot day makes a measurable difference. People who know what to expect, what to wear, and how the session works arrive more at ease. The brief covers clothing guidance (business or business casual, no busy patterns, no large logos), what happens during the session, and that each person reviews their images on screen before leaving. Most people who consider themselves unphotogenic leave the session satisfied. The on-set direction and real-time review are specifically designed for that outcome.
Matching new starters is built into the process. The lighting setup, background specification, and processing style for each team are recorded. When a new team member joins, they can be photographed at the Woodstock studio or on-site at any point and matched to the existing set, without requiring a full reshoot. The on-site service covers the Cape Town CBD, V&A Waterfront, Green Point, Southern Suburbs, Stellenbosch, and Somerset West.
What matters
Consistency is harder than it looks
A team headshot set is only useful if it looks like a set. Different photographers, different lighting, different backgrounds, different processing: the result is a company website that looks assembled rather than considered.
Every session uses the same lighting rig, the same background, and the same retouching approach across all subjects. When a new team member joins six months later, their headshot can be matched to the existing set without a full reshoot.
Individual on-set direction is given to every subject. Most people are uncomfortable being photographed. The session is structured to change that, with real-time review on screen so each person leaves satisfied with what was captured.

Before you book a team shoot
How long does a team shoot take?
Each person takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. For a team of 10, allow two hours including setup, individual sessions, and buffer. Larger teams are quoted with a full-day rate.
Can we photograph new team members to match existing headshots?
Yes. The lighting setup, background, and processing style for each team are recorded, so new starters can be photographed at any time and matched to the existing set.
What should staff wear?
Business or business casual, consistent with how the company presents externally. A brief note to staff before the shoot day is usually sufficient. Avoid very fine stripes, busy patterns, and large logos.
Do you provide on-set direction to individual staff members?
Yes. Every subject receives on-set direction and reviews their images on screen before the session is complete. Most people who are uncomfortable being photographed find the process straightforward once they can see the results in real time.
Can you photograph at multiple locations in one day?
Yes, where scheduling allows. For businesses with staff across multiple Cape Town offices, multi-location days can be arranged. This is quoted case by case.
How is delivery handled for a large team?
All edited images are delivered via a private download link within two working days. Each person receives their individual files, clearly named. A master folder with all team members is also provided for the marketing or HR team.
