The Space
Daylight, props, and a clean working space
Large north-facing windows give the studio usable daylight from morning through late afternoon. The space carries a curated set of furniture and props you can shoot against straight away, including a Chesterfield sofa, a red leather chaise lounge, a 1.8m ornate gold mirror, a clothing rail, and a high makeup chair. Backdrops, apple boxes, and stools round out a setup that suits portrait, branding, product, and content briefs without needing a build day.
The studio is on the 4th floor of the Saltcircle Building in Woodstock, served by a lift. Air conditioning is fitted, and there are multiple power circuits to support typical strobe and continuous lighting setups. Renters bring their own lighting and equipment.

A 6' wooden ladder lives in the studio as a prop only. It must not be used as a functional ladder.

Not included
Lighting equipment, camera kit, tether cables, capture computers, or Wi-Fi. Renters should arrive ready to shoot, with their own gear and a mobile hotspot if internet is needed during the booking.

Refundable damage deposit: R1,000, payable with the booking. Refunded within 7 working days post-shoot if no damage and no excessive cleaning is required.
After-hours and weekend bookings: available by arrangement. Contact directly to discuss.
Lighting: not included. Renters bring their own strobes, continuous lights, modifiers, and stands.
Invoice and procurement: rentals are invoiced under Jürgen's Photography CC (Reg 2007/001109/23). B-BBEE Level 4 EME with 100% procurement recognition. CSD vendor registered. Suitable for agency, brand, and corporate buyers.
Booking
How to book
Pick a date and a block from the calendar. A confirmation email is sent with banking details, and payment is due on or before the shoot day.

Select a date and a 4-hour or 8-hour block
Choose a half day (any 4-hour block within 9am to 5pm) or a full day (8 hours) from the calendar. Availability is synced with the resident shoot calendar so only genuine open slots are shown.
Receive the confirmation
A booking confirmation is sent by email. Banking details are included for the rental fee and the refundable damage deposit, both payable on or before the shoot day.
Show up and shoot
Access details are confirmed with the booking. Setup and pack-down are included in the booked window. Bring your own lighting, computer, tether cables, and any specific props you need.

Studio hire in Woodstock, common questions
What is included in the rental rate?
Studio access for the duration of the booked block, all furniture and props listed on this page, the white PVC and black fabric backdrops, kettle, microwave, fridge, sink, and air conditioning. Lighting equipment is not included.
Is lighting equipment provided?
No. Lighting is not included. Renters bring their own strobes, continuous lights, modifiers, and stands. The studio has multiple power circuits suitable for typical strobe and continuous setups, and large north-facing windows for natural light.
Is there Wi-Fi at the studio?
Wi-Fi is not currently provided. Renters should bring a mobile hotspot or tether off cellular for any internet needs during the shoot. This may change in future.
Where do I park?
Street parking is available on Kent Street. There is no on-site or building parking. Cape Town CBD parking norms apply: arrive a little early to find a spot.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made with 48 hours or more notice receive a full refund of any amount paid. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booking fee, at the studio owner's discretion. Rescheduling is possible subject to availability and at least 24 hours notice.
Can I bring my own props, furniture, or backdrops?
Yes. The studio is your working space for the booked window. Anything you bring in must leave with you, and the studio must be returned to the condition you found it in.
