Who books individual headshots

Professional headshots for Cape Town executives and consultants

Executives, directors, non-executive board members, lawyers, financial advisers, management consultants, coaches, and entrepreneurs book individual headshots for one reason: their professional image is visible before they are. A headshot appears on a company website team page, a LinkedIn profile, a press and media kit, a speaker bio, a board pack, an investor presentation, or an annual report. In each of those contexts, it is doing a job before the person walks into the room, joins the call, or takes the stage.

At a senior level, the gap between a strong image and a weak one is immediately noticeable. Investors, journalists, clients, and potential employers form an impression in seconds. A photograph taken on a phone in poor light, or a corporate headshot from five years and two roles ago, signals something, even if it is unintentional. A well-executed portrait signals the same care and attention that the professional applies to everything else they do.

The studio is at the Saltcircle Building in Woodstock, Cape Town. Clients come from the CBD, the V&A Waterfront, the Southern Suburbs, and Stellenbosch. Sessions are compact and focused, with no unnecessary ceremony. On-set direction and real-time screen review are built in precisely because most executives and senior professionals dislike being photographed. The session is designed to get around that discomfort, not ignore it.

What to expect

What to expect from your Cape Town headshot session

Most people feel self-conscious in front of a camera. That is the starting point for every session. The studio is set up before you arrive, so the session itself is focused entirely on you, not the equipment.

On-set direction covers posture, expression, and positioning. Images are reviewed on a large screen as we work, so adjustments happen in real time. You leave knowing what the final selection looks like, not guessing.

Images are delivered as JPEG files at full resolution (minimum 3,000 pixels on the long edge), alongside a web-optimised version (1,200 pixels, sRGB) for immediate online use. Files are individually named and delivered via a private download link within two working days. TIFF files are available on request.

Every session includes a reshoot commitment. If the result does not reflect what was discussed and agreed at the start of the session, a reshoot is arranged at no charge. You see the images on screen before the session ends, so there are no surprises after delivery.

Common questions

Questions about professional headshot sessions in Cape Town

What should I wear?

Business or business casual, consistent with how you present yourself professionally. Avoid very fine stripes, busy patterns, and large logos. A plain, well-fitted top in a neutral or brand-aligned colour works well. Bring a second option if you are unsure.

Where is the studio?

The studio is at the Saltcircle Building, 19 Kent Street, Woodstock, Cape Town. Parking is available on the street.

How long does the session take?

The Professional Essential session runs approximately 20 minutes. The Executive Standard session runs 45 minutes and includes time for multiple looks and a brief review of selects before you leave.

How do I receive my images?

Images are delivered as JPEG files at full resolution (minimum 3,000 pixels on the long edge), suitable for annual reports, press releases, websites, and print. A web-optimised version (1,200 pixels, sRGB) is included for immediate online use. Files are individually named and delivered via a private download link within two working days. TIFF files are available on request. Next-morning delivery is available at +R 500, and same-day delivery at +R 1,000.

Can I request specific retouching?

Standard retouching is included: skin smoothing, blemish removal, and light cleanup. Specific requests are noted during or after the session and applied as part of the standard delivery.

Can I come to the studio on my own, without a booking from my employer?

Yes. Individual sessions are open to anyone. You can book directly via the contact form or by emailing jurgen@jurgen.co.za.

What does a professional photoshoot involve?

At the Woodstock studio, the session is structured from the moment you arrive. The studio is set up and ready before you get there. On-set direction covers posture, expression, and positioning, with real-time review of images on a large screen as we work. You see the selects before you leave. Retouched images are delivered within two working days as full-resolution JPEGs, with a web-optimised version included. TIFF files are available on request.

What should men wear for a professional headshot?

Business or smart casual works for most professional contexts. A plain, well-fitted shirt, blazer, or jacket in a neutral or brand-aligned colour photographs cleanly. Avoid fine stripes, busy patterns, and large logos. Bringing a second outfit option is worth the effort. The corporate headshot preparation guide covers the full checklist.

What should women wear for a professional headshot session?

A plain, well-fitted top or blazer in a solid colour reads cleanly on camera. Avoid fine patterns, large prints, and necklines or accessories that draw attention away from the face. Jewellery that is subtle and professional works well. Bringing a second outfit option gives flexibility during the session. The corporate headshot preparation guide covers the full checklist.
