Backup equipment redundancy

Every conference shoot runs with full redundancy. Dual camera bodies and backup lenses on the day. Backup lighting on every shoot. Redundant card-based storage so no single failure costs you a frame. How do you make sure the right moments are captured? +

Every conference booking starts with a pre-event creative call and a written brief: programme, key speakers, must-have moments, VIPs, sponsor logo visibility, and any specific deliverables for press or comms. The shot list is signed off before the first frame is taken. That brief is the reference throughout the event, so coverage is not improvisation around a timetable you have never shared.

What is the "live social drops" option and when does it apply? +

For events with same-day social media or press requirements, a set of edited selects is delivered during breaks, typically within 30 to 60 minutes of the moment being captured. Live drops are included in the Full Day package and can be added to other bookings on request. A two-hour post-event preview gallery is also included on Full Day for immediate press distribution while the event is still in mind.

Can you cover multi-day conferences and provide more than one photographer? +

Yes. Multi-day conferences are quoted at the daily rate. For large-scale conferences, multi-day events, or programmes running across several rooms simultaneously, I coordinate a team of photographers and videographers. I manage the brief, the team briefing, and the final delivery, so you have one point of contact throughout. The team approach is quoted based on the programme, the number of concurrent sessions, and any video requirements.

Do you photograph at the CTICC and other major Cape Town venues? +

Yes. The CTICC, Century City Conference Centre, V&A Waterfront venues, Belmond Mount Nelson, the Westin, the Vineyard Hotel, the Taj, the Silo Hotel, and Twelve Apostles are all familiar ground. Venue familiarity matters for anticipating lighting conditions, access logistics, and which positions yield the cleanest keynote and panel shots without disrupting the flow of the event.

How quickly are images delivered after the event? +

Edited images are delivered within two working days as standard. The Full Day package also includes a two-hour press-ready preview gallery immediately after the event, so the marketing or comms team has usable images for the press release while the event is still in mind. Same-day social drops are included throughout the event itself on Full Day.

Can I book remotely from outside South Africa? +

Yes. A significant portion of conference work is booked remotely by international associations, agencies, and PCOs from Europe, the UK, the Middle East, and beyond. Enquiries are answered the same working day, regardless of time zone. A Zoom or Teams discovery call can be arranged via the online booking calendar, and the full brief and shot list are confirmed remotely before the event. Do you carry insurance, and what happens if there is a problem on the day? +

Jürgen's Photography carries public liability and professional indemnity insurance, with certificates provided as part of the booking documentation for venues and clients that require them. Every shoot runs with dual camera bodies, backup lighting, and redundant storage. For multi-day conferences, an associate photographer is briefed on the programme and can step in or provide additional coverage as needed. B-BBEE Level 4 EME with 100% procurement recognition for JSE-listed and SOE compliance.

How do you handle delegate privacy and data protection? +

Coverage is managed in line with POPIA (South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act) and with awareness of GDPR for international events. Consent signage templates, delegate opt-out protocols, and image storage and deletion policies are available on request as part of the event planning pack.
