The brief
Africa's most influential seed industry gathering, documented from start to finish
The AFSTA Congress is the continent's largest annual gathering of the seed trade industry. The 26th edition drew over 500 delegates to Century City: seed company leaders, government ministers, international trade bodies, scientists, and agronomists, all under one roof for three days.
The brief covered the full programme: opening plenary, keynote sessions, panel discussions, breakout rooms, and the delegate networking that happens between sessions. South Africa's Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuisen, was among the speakers. Every part of the agenda needed coverage.
Alongside the photography, the brief included integrated video production. House of Vizion provided full event videography, working alongside the photography team throughout. One brief, one point of contact, coordinated from the outset.

On the day
A full three-day programme across multiple rooms and formats
Three days of coverage means managing a shifting programme: different rooms, different session formats, and a different energy at different points in the agenda. Keynotes in the main auditorium, panel discussions, and the informal conversations that happen in the corridors between sessions.
With the shot list agreed in advance, the focus on the day is being in the right position before each moment, not chasing it afterwards. A 500-delegate congress moves quickly.
Delegate engagement, candid networking, speaker energy, and audience reaction all form part of a complete visual record. The final gallery gives the client material to use across communications, social, and planning for future congresses.
Photography + video
One integrated team on the floor
The AFSTA Congress required both photography and video working in coordination across all three days. House of Vizion provided full event videography, operating as a single integrated team alongside the photography.
Both disciplines were briefed together from the outset. The same programme, the same key moments, the same shot list. Two different outputs. Stills for social, press, and post-event communications. Video for highlight reels, session capture, and future promotional use.
A combined team reduces the footprint on your event floor, ensures a consistent visual language across both formats, and means your communications team receives stills and video that tell the same story.
